10 Days Kenya Tanzania Migration safari- luxury lodges/ tented
camps
Day
1: Nairobi
Arrive in at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, are met by our representative
and after transferred to your city Parkside hotel/ Flora Guest house
for overnight.
Day
2: Nairobi - Maasai Mara
Breakfast and your day today begins your safari by taking a scenic
drive to the world famous Masai Mara. Stop enroute at the edge of
the Rift Valley escarpment to see the stunning views and to visit
a small church that was built by Italian prisoners of war during
the 1940's, not usually expected in Africa! You will also see the
Maasai people on the way, who live unaffected by modern civilization.
You may stop along the way at small trading centers"dukas"
in Swahili, and enjoy speaking to the locals, some of whom might
know some English. Arrival at Mara and lunch will be from the camp,
after lunch proceeds for an evening game drive in the park. Dinner
and overnight at Mara Nyumbu tented camp/ Sopa lodge/ Simba lodge
or similar.
Day
3:Maasai Mara
Morning breakfast and proceed for game drives from the comfortable
base of the camp, explore the parks amazingly high concentration
of game. This game reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary.
Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded
here. Although July, August and September are the months when the
Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there
is also resident wildlife year round. The famous Maasai tribesmen
live within the dispersal area of the game reserve.The mara's landscape
is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills, which enables the
reserve to attract sufficient rainfall to maintain and support a
large population of herbivores, together with the predators that
follow, Elephant, Lion, Buffalo can be seen with relative ease through
luck is a necessary factor for spotting Rhino and Leopard that complete
the big five as the two animals are very timid and sparsely numbered.
Plains game like wildebeest, zebra and Masai giraffe abound as well
as hippos and a wide variety of antelopes including Impala, dik
dik, hartebeest, grants gazelle and Thompson's gazelle among others.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Nyumbu tented camp/ Sopa lodge/ Simba
lodge or similar.
Day
4: Maasai Mara
Breakfast and spend the whole day on game drives on packed lunches.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Springs camp/ Flamingo camp or similar.
Day
5: Maasai Mara
Breakfast and spend the whole day on game drives on packed lunches.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Nyumbu tented camp/ Sopa lodge/ Simba
lodge or similar.
Day
6: Mara- Nairobi
Early morning breakfast and leave for Nairobi by road with a game
drive
enroute and lunch enroute at Narok transit hotel. Proceed to Nairobi
arriving to check inn at Parkside hotel/ Flora guest for overnight.
Day
7: Nairobi- Manyara
Early morning breakfast and board the public shuttle bus from Nairobi
to Arusha (300 kms) at 0800hrs, via Namanga border town for your
Tanzania visas, arriving Arusha in time for lunch. After, proceed
to Manyara Park for Dinner and overnight at Manyara hotel.
Day
8: Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro
Early morning game drives, breakfast, then proceed to Ngorongoro
conservation area with packed lunches where huge herds of wildebeest,
zebra and gazelle roam the plains. Afternoon game viewing in the
park. Ngorongoro Conservation Area's central feature is the Ngorongoro
Crater, one of the largest intact caldera in the world and one of
the most spectacular sights in Africa. The Olduvai Gorge in the
neighborhood is the site where some of Africa's oldest hominid fossils
were found. The Crater has the most predator population in Africa.
Elephant, lion, zebra, wildebeest and a host of other resident animals
are to be found here. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro wildlife
lodge.
Day
9: Ngorongoro- Arusha
After breakfast, half day in Ngorongoro crater on game drives. After
lunch, leave for Arusha town. Overnight at Arusha budget hotel (Arusha
Inn or Sinka Court on bed and breakfast basis).
Day
10: Arusha- Nairobi
Breakfast and leave for Nairobi by morning shuttle bus through the
border town of Namanga, arriving in time for your next destination.
The
price for this safari US$2425 per person. Minimum four people.
